During three days in June, ITS and urban mobility will be the centre of debate at a Polis workshop, the Open ITS forum, the CONDUITS city pool and a Polis Working Group meeting. Save the date: 2013 Polis Conference 4-5 December

This year's Annual Polis Conference will take place from 4-5 December 2013 in Brussels. The call for abstracts will be released at the end of April, keep an eye!

Open call: Funding for sustainable urban mobility campaigns

The European Commission's Sustainable Urban Mobility (SUM) campaign ("Do the right mix") has launched a second call for SUM funding applications. The funding available under this call will co-finance campaign initiatives taking place during the period running from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014. Applications for the second round of funding must be submitted before 12:00 (CET) on 31 May 2013.

Polis and the National Transport Authority of Ireland are pleased to invite you to Dublin to join an exciting programme of events organised in conjunction with the ITS Europe Congress, on 4-6 June 2013.

Three Belgian Regions start kilometer charge test project

The three Belgian Regions agreed upon the start of a test project on kilimeter charges for private cars to study the impacts on behavioural change with regards to such a tax. 1200 people will participate in the test. The test is carried out in the so-called GEN area, this is the territory covered by the Brussels Regional Express Network.

Urban Freight Transport is now a topic in the European mobility agenda. Several events and workshops will take place this month, here a short update.

Call for European Rail Congress Awards

The European Rail Congress is calling for best practice at the inaugural European Rail Congress Awards. The ceremony is to be held at the congress in central London in November 2013. Deadline for award applications is 19 April 2013.

Call for Cities and Regions to Participate in the Co-cities PRIME Initiative - provide integrated multimodal transport information to your citizens

The PRIME initiative provides cities the opportunity to benefit from the implementation of a Commonly Agreed Interface and to have 50% of their implementation costs covered. The call is open until May 5, 2013.

120 Workplace Mobility Plans in Toulouse, France

Toulouse was selected a finalist for the EC's first SUMP Award for its "its long history in and experience with sustainable urban mobility planning" (jury comment). Among the reasons: Toulouse metropolitan area counts 120 Workplace Mobility Plans, covering 170,000 employees. Find out about the sustainable mobility challenges that Toulouse has been facing and how it dealt with them. Read more.
