The KennisplatformVerkeer en Vervoer (Traffic and Transport Knowledge Resource Centre (KpVV)) supports all those in the various decentralised tiers of government involved in the development and implementation of traffic and transport policy. KpVV does this by developing and disseminating knowledge and expertise in the field of traffic and transport policy. It keeps abreast of new developments and tries to understand their implications. KpVV turns knowledge and experience into something which local authorities can apply in their daily activities. The fields it covers include: Accessibility of locations; Parking; Environment; Mobility Management; Traffic Management, Public Transport; Accessibility and Personal Security in public transport; and Road safety.
KpVV is part of the CROW foundation, the technology platform for transport, infrastructure and public space. It is a small, informal organisation with short lines of communication, which enables it to respond quickly and effectively. To be able to make optimum use of its capacity, each consultant is also the account manager for a region. KpVV staff regularly visit the regions in order to know people personally and hear about what is happening in the region.
KpVV forms a link between various government bodies and between levels of government and can ensure local issues are placed on the central government agenda. And similarly, it can help turn national issues into decentralised policy.
KpVV is involved in EU projects: MEDIATE , EPOMM-PLUS and is the National correspondent for Dutch community of European Road Safety Charter.
