Editorial
Dear Polis members,
From 11 to 13 October 2016, I attended the SUMPs-UP kick-off meeting in Freiburg, Germany. SUMPs-Up is one of the three big SUMP projects resulting from last year’s urban mobility call under the EC’s H2020 programme. Another important project gathering was the first coordination meeting with all urban mobility projects funded under the CIVITAS 2020 umbrella of H2020, organised back to back with the CIVITAS Forum by Polis in its capacity of CIVITAS SATELLITE coordinator. Read more about both meetings in this newsletter.
Polis also engaged in a number of policy initiatives at EU level, such as the joint letter addressed to the Council and the European Parliament for the Type-Approval Framework Regulation revision and the next steps towards the Urban Mobility Partnership under the EU Urban Agenda. This Urban Mobility partnership will also be discussed at the Polis Political Group Lunch Meeting during our Annual Conference in Rotterdam.
Coming back to the CIVITAS Forum in Gdynia, we would also like to congratulate Polis member Bologna, which received the CIVITAS award for public participation with the European Cycling Challenge they have been running successfully for several years now!
