Dear members,
Before InfoPolis takes a short summer break, I would like to inform you that Polis has recently joined the Clean Bus Deployment Initiative launched by the European Commissioner for Transport Ms. Violeta Bulc last week, Thursday 13th July. As a network of cities and regions, we are proud to be among the first signatories and we will do our best to strengthen the role that local and regional leaders have in cutting carbon emissions and making the transport system greener, smarter and more efficient. Read more in this newsletter.
I would also like to remind you that the first draft programme of the CiViTAS Forum is now available and you can consult it online. This year’s CiViTAS forum under the name "Small Communities, Big Ideas", will showcase some cutting-edge ideas in the field of sustainable urban mobility with some new highlights in the programme.
During the so-called CIVITAS Deployment Day - a new feature aiming at connecting developers of new tools with potential users through some live demonstrations – two Polis projects will join forces and present the outcomes achieved so far. With a joint stand for the entire duration of the conference, FLOW and TRACE (together with the EMPOWER project) will offer hourly activities such as demonstrations of the tools and live walkshops of the walking and cycling apps being developed.
