Dear members,
On Tuesday 19 September Polis is hosting an Urban Mobility Breakfast to discuss views on the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) concept while having a warm drink and a croissant. Panellists include Polis member London and IRU of the MaaS Alliance. It will be the opportunity for us to start gathering feedback from stakeholders on the newly published discussion paper on MaaS prepared by the Polis Traffic Efficiency & Mobility Working Group. You are also very welcome to join the discussion on LinkedIn!
On Tuesday afternoon, Polis will be in Rotterdam for a workshop on parking and behaviour organised in conjunction with CROW and EPA. Please also mark your calendar for the upcoming Working Group meeting on Bike sharing Schemes hosted by Polis member Manchester, on 26 September and organised back-to-back with the second UK Bike Share conference on 27-28 September 2017.
Today the 2017 EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK kicks off under the slogan 'Sharing gets you further' with the aim to inspire cities across Europe on clean, shared and intelligent mobility. More than 2000 towns from Europe and beyond are organising events to encourage citizens to try alternative modes of transport and foster activate mobility. Many of these events will culminate in a Car-Free Day on Sunday. During the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK the European Commission will launch the call for applications for this year’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning Award (SUMP). Read more in this newsletter!
