Dear members,

last week we released this year's first Polis public newsletter. It featured the activities of several Polis members as well as new initiatives Polis is involved in 2012. You can subscribe to our quarterly public newsletter online. For our members newsletter InfoPolis we will keep the increased frequency every two weeks to provide more regular and up-to-date information.

New documents in the online database

To read the full InfoPolis articles, do not forget to log in to the members area at www.polisnetwork.eu! When you are logged in as a member, you will have access to a considerably enhanced database of documents, events and news compared to the public website. New documents available online are: final report and recommendations of COST TU0603 action on Buses with high level of services and the CityMove workshop agenda for 21 February.

Urban hub "BentoBox" fosters cargo bike deliveries in Berlin

Last week, the city of Berlin presented the “BentoBox”, Europe’s first prototype of a flexible collection station for packages, little packets and smaller sachets. The station was combined with the deployment of innovative cargo bikes to achieve quick, cost efficient, emission free and almost silent distribution of goods.

Call for cities to join Bologna for a cycling challenge

The city of Bologna and the local transport authority SRM will launch a contest of European cities to challenge each other on transport cycling mileage in May 2012. Cities interested  to join should get in contact before 15 February 2012.

FOT-Net seminar on FESTA for beginners

FOT-Net project is organising a seminar on the FESTA methodology for beginners in Pisa on 9-10 May. FESTA is a methodology for running large-scale tests of information and communication technology-based (ICT) solutions, otherwise known as Field Operational Tests (FOTs) in European jargon.

Sustainable Energy Week 2012: Call to organise Energy Days and to apply for the award

This year’s sustainable energy week takes place from 18 to 22 June 2012. In addition to a 3-day policy conference for a more sustainable energy future in Brussels, hundreds of events will be organised across Europe. Application for the Sustainable Energy Europe Awards is open until 29 February.
