Dear members,

as the Polis conference is approaching, please don’t forget to register by 11 November (Polis members enjoy free registration) and to regularly visit this page for any updates on the programme. On the same page you will also be able to find useful information on the conference’s location and other practical and logistical news such as special fares for accommodation and a list of our sponsors.

Several working group meetings are lined-up for you this month. On 18 October the Polis Working Group meeting on clean vehicles will meet in Paris back-to-back with a joint CleanMobilEnergy and SEEV4-city workshop. The day after there will be a session on "Electromobility roll-out in cities" at the AUTONOMY and the Urban Mobility Summit. Detailed information is available here. On 25 October the Polis Traffic Efficiency & Mobility Working Group meeting will take place in Greenwich (London), UK.  The WG meeting will be organised back to back with a workshop of the MAVEN project the day before which deals with the traffic management implications of highly automated vehicles.

Your views on key priorities for discussion with urban freight industry!

POLIS and ALICE members will meet on 21 Nov 2018 in Manchester, 11:00-13:00 (day prior to Polis Conference) to discuss and hopefully agree to establish a permanent public-private strategic dialogue to pave the way and speed up the transition to CO2-free city logistics by 2030. Members' views on key priorities for discussion are requested.

Polis members, Eindhoven and Helmond, jointly hosting 2019 European ITS Congress

Under the banner, “Fulfilling ITS promises”, the congress aims to show what ITS can do and how we can move forward to fully exploit the potential of smart mobility in modern day Europe. The call for contributions and for demonstrations are open for the Congress, which is taking place in the Brainport region from 3-6 June 2019.

Your views on automated driving are sought!

The H2020 project MAVEN* is running a survey to gather your views on automated driving across a broad range of domains including potential policy goal effects (congestion, safety, etc), the integration of automated vehicles in the transport network, measures that local transport authorities and national authorities could take, whether you would be willing to use an AV and under which circumstances and finally the senstive issue of liability.

Traffic management in an increasingly connected and automated transport system

The MAVEN project invites you to joint its workshop in Greenwich (London) on 24 October about how increasing vehicle automation may affect urban traffic management. Local authorities are the main target group of this workshop; however, it is also open to other urban transport stakeholders with an interest in CCAV.
