I hope you all received our Annual General Assembly (AGA) invitation sent by email yesterday. It will be my pleasure to welcome you on 21 November at 14.00 h, at the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester (same venue as Polis conference). Polis supporting European ITS plaform - 14-15 November, Utrecht

Polis is pleased to be associated with the 2018 forum of the European ITS Platform, an ITS platform for national road authorities and stakeholders. Polis will be represented at the forum by the province of Utrecht at both political and officer level.

MEPs urged not to weaken new minimum vehicle safety standards

Polis co-signed a letter urging members of the European Parliament not to weaken the European Commission’s proposals on new vehicle safety measures. The letter results from to concerns that European vehicle manufacturers, represented by ACEA, attempt to water down the EC's proposal for revise minimum vehicle safety standards in the EU (the General Safety Regulation).

Under the banner, “Fulfilling ITS promises”, the congress aims to show what ITS can do and how we can move forward to fully exploit the potential of smart mobility in modern day Europe. The call for contributions and for demonstrations are open for the Congress, which is taking place in the Brainport region from 3-6 June 2019.

Three Polis members among the finalists of the 2018 European Capital of Innovation contest

Polis members Aarhus (Denmark), Leuven (Belgium) and Toulouse (France) have entered the final stage of this year’s European Capital of Innovation contest, funded under Horizon 2020. The winner will be announced at the Web Summit in Lisbon on 6 November 2018.

Traffic management in an increasingly connected and automated transport system

The MAVEN project invites you to joint its workshop in Greenwich (London) on 24 October about how increasing vehicle automation may affect urban traffic management. Local authorities are the main target group of this workshop; however, it is also open to other urban transport stakeholders with an interest in CCAV.

The H2020 project MAVEN* is running a survey to gather your views on automated driving across a broad range of domains including potential policy goal effects (congestion, safety, etc), the integration of automated vehicles in the transport network, measures that local transport authorities and national authorities could take, whether you would be willing to use an AV and under which circumstances and finally the senstive issue of liability.
