Dear members,

In less than two weeks, the Annual General Meeting and Polis Conference will be taking place at Old Trafford in Manchester. Have a look at the conference programme and check out our high level speakers in the Plenary Sessions! We are happy to feature many of you in the programme and look forward to hearing about your latest transport innovations. Our Annual General Assembly (AGA) is scheduled for 21 November at 14h00. The agenda of the meeting is available here. If you haven’t registered yet to both events, please make sure to do so by Sunday 11 November, when registrations will close!

I would also like to remind you of the meetings taking place back to back with the AGA and Polis conference. The Joint Polis-ITF/Safer City Streets meeting on urban road safety will start in the London City Hall on Tuesday 20 November and continue in Manchester the day after in the morning. The detailed agenda is available here. On the morning of 21 November the Urban Freight Working Group meeting will meet in Manchester with several hot topics for you to discuss.

The INCLUSION project at GO MOBILITY: 27-28 November, Irun (Spain)

The first edition of Go Mobility, the first tradeshow in Southern Europe on Sustainable Mobility and Energy Storage, will take place on the 27th and 28th November at FICOBA Exhibition Centre (in Irun, San Sebastian Region). The tradeshow is fostered by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and it has the support of the Basque Country Government.

Electromobility: the projects SEEV4City & CleanMobilEnergy join forces

The two European INTERREG projects CleanMobilEnergy and SEEV4-City which are currently working towards the development of electromobility in cities, and in particular on technologies and solutions such as: smart grids, vehicle to grid, and renewable energy held a joint workshop on 17 October 2018 in Paris, hosted by IAU Ile-de-France.

Join the Transport Day 2018 at the COP24 in Katowice, Poland

In the framework of the 24th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the European Commission’s CIVITAS Initiative and the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) on behalf of the Paris Process on Mobility and Climate (PPMC) are jointly organizing the Transport Day 2018 “Urban mobility solutions to tackle climate change” that will take place on Thursday, 6 December 2018 in Katowice, Poland. The event is hosted and supported by the City of Katowice.

Following a workshop for a study Mapping of Accessible Transport for Persons with Reduced Mobility held in October, the research company Panteia has developed a survey on travel information requirements for Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM).

New World Health Organisation report: Air pollution and child health

The harmful effects of air pollution are widely acknowledged as they have detrimental consequences on an individual's health. Today a new World Health Organisation report denounces that every day around 93% of the world’s children under the age of 15 years (1.8 billion children) breathe air that is so polluted it puts their health and development at serious risk.
