Dear members,

It was a honour for me last week to moderate the 2018 Transport Day at COP24 in Katowice while representing the strong commitment of our cities' and the EU-funded CIVITAS initiative in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It will not be possible to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals without substantially transforming transport. I am proud of our members cities and regions for their efforts made in this direction, along with tackling other challenges such as air pollution, congestion, safety and health. Polis members Gent, Lisbon and Madrid presented their actions in these fields during the conference. You can read more about Transport Day in this news item.

Before embarking on Christmas holidays, I would like to remind you that you have time until tomorrow to apply to become Working Group chair. On behalf of the whole Polis team, I wish you a nice read of this year's final issue of InfoPolis, a relaxing Christmas time and all the best for the new year!
