Mainstreaming CONDUITS-DST in traffic management decision making in Brussels

Brussels Region presents PT investment plans

Over the next decade, the Brussels region will invest EUR 4,4 billion in public transport. The Brussels regional government has given the green light for the new management contract with the regional PT operator MIVB-STIB.

Lille launches new parking strategy

As part of the Lille PDU (sustainable urban mobility plan), the city-region has developed a parking strategy at regional level. The city-region has signed a charter together with the subsistent municipalities in order to commit to this common vision.

London plans Ultra Low Emission Zone

The Mayor of London has announced to create the world’s first Ultra Low Emission Zone in central London. This should lead to strong benefits in air quality and mass take-up of zero and low emission vehicles. Transport for London (TfL) has been asked to prepare plans to introducing the scheme.

MOLECULES second newsletter informs on pilot requirements and use cases to deploy ICT services for Smart Connected Electromobility in cities

MOLECULES, a demonstration project aiming to foster and encourage the take-up of electromobility in cities through the use of user friendly ICT-based mobile services, released its second newsletter in February.

EPTA - Enhancing Public Transport Authorities in Europe, releases its 2nd newsletter

In the forerun of the upcoming project’s workshop and training on ‘Tendering, Offer evaluation, Awarding’, EPTA 2nd newsletter presents briefly the workshop’s agenda and aims, and talks about smart use of ITS in Public Transport services.

TIDE call for champion cities open

The mission of the European-funded TIDE project is to enhance the broad transfer and take-up of 15 innovative urban transport and mobility measures throughout Europe and to make a visible contribution to establish them as mainstream measures. TIDE will select ten champion cities to develop concrete and tailored implementation scenarios which will help them integrate one of the TIDE innovative measures in their local transport policy.

In 2013, the International Transport Forum's Transport Achievement Award will be awarded to an initiative, project, or service/product that through innovative pricing and funding arrangements addresses one or more of today's transport focal issues – quality infrastructure or service, congestion, safety, environmental protection, enhanced accessibility
