Dear members,

The call for abstracts for the 2015 Polis conference is now officially closed. Thanks to all of you who have submitted a contribution. You will hear from us soon and we hope to welcome many of you this December in Brussels.

Last week, Polis made headlines in the EU community by publishing an opinion piece that I signed together with UITP secretary general Alain Flausch. We are concerned that the Juncker Comission's plans to channel funds away from Horizon2020 and the Connecting Europe Facility towards the new European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI) could hurt transport investment in Europe.

We encourage you to raise awareness on this issue with your local stakeholders and politicians. We must make sure we can continue our successful work in fostering innnovative urban mobility with the support of the EU's research programmes.

I am also happy to announce a meeting of the Working Group health and transport on 24-25 September in Dresden. Please save the date and see our article below for more information.

Please login to the Polis website as a member to access all details addressed to Polis members only (green headline)! If you do not know your login details, please contact us!

I wish you a pleasant read!

Yours sincerely,
Karen Vancluysen
Secretary General
